Iain Duffin will join the board of Stagecoach Group as a non-executive director from September 12, 2001.

Mr Duffin, aged 54, is Chief Executive of Macfarlane Group, the packaging company. He previously worked in senior management positions in the UK and US with Hughes MicroElectronics, ITT Cannon and LucasVarity.

Brian Souter, chairman of Stagecoach Group, said: "I would like to welcome Iain to the board. He has wide experience of business, particularly with American corporations, and I am sure he will make a strong contribution to the Stagecoach board."
